Psalm 96:1 says "Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the Earth"
New songs to listen for on WCTL:
Just say Jesus-7eventh Time Down
7eventh Time Down’s big, bold in-your-face brand of rock is inescapable, but it’s the message that’s most important. Lead singer Mikey Howard said in a recent interview: “Lyrically I hope we make a statement that’s inspiring for people to live like Jesus, for us, the biggest goal is for them to not only believe in Jesus but to start following him and start to ask themselves some tough questions--What is it going to mean for me to look like Jesus where I’m at in my job? At school? Or for parents in that relationship with their husband or wife or kids? And for non-believers, I hope it’s inspiring for them to want to know who Jesus is. We want to present the gospel in a way that is intriguing and makes it a train that you want to jump on board.”
Nothing ever (could separate us)-Citizen Way
Inspired by Romans 8:38-39 which says:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord
Starts with me-Tim Timmons
Tim is a worship leader out of The Following Church in California and writes all of his own music. He has been married for 14 years, has 4 children and has been living for the past 9 years with an incurable cancer. Timmons’ lead single “Starts With Me” is a call to action that boasts a bold lyric about revival. He explains, “What if we didn’t pray for a revival anymore? What if we just knew Jesus and let him lead? ‘Starts With Me’ says revival starts with me on my knees, just me and Jesus.”
The only name (yours will be)-Big Daddy Weave
Their third single from their album Love Come to Life. The album’s second single, “Redeemed,” is the most successful track of their career spending 12 weeks at No. 1 on Christian radio chart. Will this one follow suit? Time will tell.
Love does-Brandon Heath
Inspired by his friend and author Bob Goff. Brandon said of Goff “The best way to describe Bob… He's a fireworks technician. He loves finding people's fuse and lighting it, and standing back and watching them explode into something beautiful. He searches for people's fuses and ignites them. That's what he's done to me. He's taken me all over the world. I've been to India, China and Africa with him. Basically, he's the first guy to take me to a third world country and push the limits on what I thought I was capable of doing. It's liberated me. “
My God-Jeremy Camp
Inspired by Psalm 63:
“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.”
He is with us-Love and the Outcome
“He Is With Us” is an unabashed sing-along anthem that stomps and chimes its way to the catchiest of choruses: “He is with us, he is with us/ Always, always.” It reminds listeners that no matter how dark it gets, how alone we feel, we should take refuge in the knowledge that He is with us.
